During a distant interstellar mission, astronaut Arnas finds an old flight log aboard the ship whose presence cannot be explained. Soon the navigation system offers two routes. One he must choose himself; the other is already recommended by the artificial intelligence. Almost without thinking, Arnas chooses the option someone else has decided — though later he can no longer understand why.
The deeper the ship pushes into an unmarked region of space, the harder it becomes to tell what is truly changing — the ship, or himself. The corridors become unrecognizable, entries appear in the flight log describing events that haven’t happened yet, and every choice begins to feel as though someone else had already made it before him.
This mystical psychological novella invites reflection on how many of our life’s choices are truly our own, and how many are quietly borrowed voices we’ve absorbed without noticing. Or perhaps the greatest labyrinth a person ever enters doesn’t begin in space at all — but in the moment they stop asking why they chose this particular path.
